Every horse and rider combination goes through an evaluaion.  The evaluation is tailored to the division in which the team plans to volunteer.     It is recommended that every team takes the opportunity to complete an assessment to see where they currently stand and what opportunities they have for improvement.  Practice opportunities will be offered prior to evaluation to ensure every opportunity for success.   Please contact your  Director for a copy of the assessment /evaluation form.

Every team will be taught to or  asked to:  walk, trot, back 4 steps 1 at a time, show approachability, stand quietly, perform haunches in and haunches out, leg yield, negotiate an obstacle, pivot in a box, serpentine, back through an L, side pass both directions, turn on the forehand, turn on the haunches and line up next to another horse.
